Brighten up a chair with a wallpaper feature

Take a dull old chair and transform it into something special! Wallpaper can be used in all sorts of ways, including furniture. Simple to do and cost effective this project can be completed within a day and without stretching the wallet. A sample of wallpaper is ample to cover the seat and a couple of paint testers in a complimentary colour is all that is required.

Office Desk to Colour Consultation Workspace

At Mainland Chroma we are a fairly environmentally minded bunch, so when we it came to finding a work station for the Colour Lounge we looked to the resources we already had. Office desks seemed to be in abundance in our admin area. Perhaps not our ideal but we were confident that with a bit of creative thinking and some upcycling we could transform an officious looking desk into a more fitting workspace for our Colour Specialist.
Like most office desks the surface was covered with a Melamine type finish which required priming with an etch primer. This step enabled the top coat to adhere to the smooth surface. We used 3mm composite board to infill the sides and then attached WallArt panels to create a feature.
We finished the desk with a water based enamel to create a tough finish for the surface. The entire paint system was water based to avoid creating paint fumes in the store but equally an oil based system can be used.
If you would like advice regarding a project either make an online enquiry or call in-store.
